Leedy Drum Company (also known as Leedy Manufacturing Company) began creating drums around the turn of the 20th century. Leedy Drum Company was at the fore front of innovative drum and hardware ideas, patenting the first adjustable snare stand in 1899. Once they joined forces with Ludwig, they became the largest drum company in the world and were creating top of the range, sought after snare drums.Ā
The Leedy Elite Professional Model was one of these snares. The snare is in great conditionĀ and has been well looked after by past owners. Originally this snare drum had the originalĀ Leedy Speed-way strainer which helped us with dating this snare however this has since been replaced. The hoops have 'Indianapolis' engravedĀ on the hoops which was Leedys locationĀ of manufacture untilĀ 1929.Ā
